Patch Release Information:
The v1.06 patch fixes a rare crash bug with multiplayer games. The v1.05 patch fixes a rare crash bug which could occur if a hack sends a malformed packet to a game server; plus it fixes compatibility problems with Windows XP SP2 and certain 256MB video cards that could cause the game not to launch or display chat messages.
Other changes:
v1.04 is a GameSpy Security Hot-Fix that addresses a rare crash bug that could occur if a hacker purposely tries to exploit the GameSpy CDKey SDK. Fixed the crash on startup bug relating to the intro movies. Anisotropic filtering is now NOT on by default. Saved games prior to 1.03 are now no longer compatible. Any levels that were unlocked as you progressed through the game are still available, but your checkpoints will be reset. Adds: Anti team killing – Implemented server-configurable team-killing banning solution. Removed respawn penalty from person who gets team killed. Increased respawn time multiplier for team killing. Adds: Assault mode role indicator – “Offense” or “Defense” will appear on the HUD indicating which role your team is on Adds: Assault mode timer – A permanent countdown timer is displayed on the HUD showing the time left for that “round” Adds: Assault mode flag hard reset option – The flag will reset automatically at the end of each “round”, even if it is being carried by someone. Adds: Networking performance – Enhancement to player prediction Adds: Persistent teams across mapcycle – Players will remain on the same team when a new map is started Adds: Map quick restart – restarts any MP game – good for having all players start at the same time. Adds: New in-game scoreboard – Displays players, kills, deaths, assists and ping Adds: Increased chat text length – Chat length has been increased from 40 characters to 64 characters Adds: Improved banned player detection - Banned players no longer appear in game for brief second before getting kicked out Fixed: Plasma grenades can no longer teleport on vehicles Fixed: Players standing on rock no longer experience “warping” Fixed: Teleporters no longer cause occasional camera out of sync Fixed: Cinematic speech bug with Audigy cards fixed Fixed: Game not starting with unsupported refresh rates fixed Fixed: “Telefraged” message is now displayed when a player is telefraged Fixed: Flashlight toggle bug in MP games fixed Fixed: Interrupting reload animation bug fixed Adds: Halo for Windows Dedicated Server support for multiple instances.
