Demo mode

At the opening screen, press L + R when the F-Zero logo appears.

Quick start

During the pre-race countdown, accelerate after "2" and before "Ready". If done correctly, the announcer will say "Boost fire" instead of "Start".

Win at a Grand Prix course for any cup on any difficulty setting.

Platinum Cup

Win the Bronze, Silver and Gold cups on the standard or higher difficulty setting.

Astro Robin

Successfully complete Story mode with Jack Levin.

Big Fang

Win the Silver Cup on the novice difficulty setting.

Black Bull

Successfully complete Story mode with Black Shadow.

Win the Platinum Cup on the expert difficulty setting.

Win the Platinum Cup on the standard difficulty setting.

Successfully complete Story mode with Zoda.

Bonus ships

Win Grand Prix mode to unlock the Red Gazelle, Iron Tiger, Deepclaw, Crazy Bear, Big Fang, Wonder Wasp, Crazy Boar, Super Piranha, Mighty Hurricane, Space Angler, Mighty Typhoon, Green Panther, or Blood Hawk. The ship that is unlocked is random. Also, the higher the difficulty setting, the more ships will be unlocked (one for novice, two for standard, or three for expert).

Black Shadow's storyline

Successfully complete story mode with Rick Wheeler (Ryu), Captain Falcon, and Lisa Brilliant.

Captain Falcon's storyline

Successfully complete the second storyline with Rick Wheeler (Ryu).

Jody Summer's storyline

Successfully complete the fourth storyline with Rick Wheeler or third storyline with Rick Levin.

Successfully complete the second storyline with Samurai Goro.
